Most people feel this way at first, and there’s nothing you need to prepare. I offer calm, natural guidance throughout the session—focusing on posture, gaze, and letting moments unfold rather than forcing them. The goal isn’t perfect posing, but helping you feel at ease so your presence comes through naturally.

Many clients begin with a feeling rather than a clear plan. Before booking, we’ll talk through how the images will be used, where you feel most at ease, and what you want them to convey. From there, I’ll guide you in shaping a session that feels natural, considerate, and true to you.

Shaped by my background as a television journalist, my approach is calm and conversational. I guide first-time clients gently, creating a relaxed environment where natural expression can surface with ease.

You don’t need to practice posing or prepare expressions. The most helpful preparation is simply arriving as yourself. I’ll guide you through the process and take care of the rest.

Choose clothing that feels comfortable and reflects how you want to be seen. Simple, well-fitted pieces in soft, neutral tones tend to photograph best.
For family sessions, coordination matters more than matching. Aim for a shared color palette and similar levels of formality, allowing each person to look like themselves while still feeling visually connected.
It’s best to avoid large logos, bold patterns, and highly saturated colors, as they can distract from expression and interaction. If you’re unsure, we can talk through options ahead of time.

Travel within the local area is included. Locations beyond 20 miles from New Haven may require a travel fee, depending on distance and time.
